Importance OF Kitchen Cabinets IN The Kitchen

July 2nd, 2011

Kitchens have a very long history. The first of the kitchens were seen as the separate places with an exquisite mud lined fire place and storage house to store the food. In the Greek civilization the kitchens improved and were used both for worship and cooking food. The kitchens were then improved by later civilizations and the improvement has continued to date. Now the structure of the kitchens has changed. We have developed tiles instead of mud floor and ovens instead of fire places but the traditional rituals and values have not changed.

Kitchens being the prime places that are kept clean are considered as the most sacred places in our house. Kitchens have a lot of importance since ages and people always try to keep their houses and especially kitchens clean. In our kitchens we keep our food. Food is the greatest gift of God and this means that we should take a lot of care of our kitchens. The different religions have different myths about their kitchens. In Buddhism they place there gods in the kitchen which stresses the fact that how important kitchen is according to their religion. Muslims also do not allow any fellow from other religion to enter their kitchens. This gives kitchen religious value.

Kitchen cabinets also play an important role in enhancing the overall beauty of house. A trendy kitchen would add to the decor. People also view the kitchen as the lady’s place of living and thus a clean kitchen is considered as a measure of one’s good household. Even in the olden days when the in laws went to the girl’s house, to meet her for the first time they insisted on inspecting the kitchen to view that how much the girl is good at house hold. In lofts the kitchens are small and at the same plane as the rest of the living space. Bread Anyone

July 1st, 2011

I have always been a big fan of breads. Yes, that I can last a whole week just by eating bread alone. I always find myself amazed and mesmerized going inside a bakery or a cafe with breads displayed on the shelves. I don’t know what is with breads that gives out such fulfilling feeling. Serve it with peanut butter and jam, or tossing ham with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese, or just plainly spreading butter, toasted or not, I will take it. May it be white, brown, wholemeal, whole grain, stuffed or plain.

Bread is considered to be the oldest prepared food, dating back a few centuries ago. Flour, water, sugar, yeast, salt, eggs and milk are the most common ingredients. Keeping your breads properly is essential to maintain its freshness. A stale bread is not appetizing to see nor to taste. To make it last longer, breads can be kept in a breadbox, or wrap it with a wax paper and put it inside the refrigerator. Another thing that you should avoid when storing breads is to keep it away from items with strong smell such as onion, detergent, soap, etc. as these may affect the bread’s taste and aroma.

The health benefits of breads? It is a good source of iron, vitamins, calcium and protein. The high fiber content in the whole wheat varieties aids the digestion process. It is said to decrease the gastrointestinal tracts by keeping your digestive system on track. It can also be of great benefit to your heart, with studies showing that it can lower down cholesterol and can regulate pressure and glucose levels.

I do not have the # 1 on the list for my most favorite kind, with so many tasty bread recipes and variations available today. I always get baffled on what to take home, though I personally love the French, Italian and Japanese breads.
